Choosing the Right Tubing Cutting Machine: Blades Make the Difference

Many customers ask if our HZX-100 tubing cutting machine can handle all types of tubes, from silicone to heat shrink. While it’s a versatile machine, picking the optimal blade is crucial for clean cuts and efficient operation.

Understanding the Blades:

Our HZX-100 boasts two blade options:

Utility Knives: These razor-thin blades slice cleanly through the material, resulting in smooth, burr-free cuts. They’re ideal for PVC, PU, silicone, and nylon tubing, prioritizing a clean aesthetic. Paired with our Sai Gang cushion blocks, they deliver exceptional cut quality.

High-Speed Steel SKD-2 Blades: These scissor-like blades work by progressively slicing through the material from one side. They excel at handling flat materials like heat shrink tubing, battery sleeves, films, and even paper.

Matching Blade to Material:

Now, let’s address the original question: cutting heat shrink tubing, PVC tubing, and silicone tubing. Here’s the key – the desired cut finish for silicone.

Clean Cuts: For a clean, professional-looking silicone cut, choose the utility knife. Its sharpness ensures minimal material deformation and a smooth edge.

Versatility and Efficiency: If cut quality isn’t paramount, and you need to handle heat shrink tubing as well, the high-speed steel blade is your best bet. Its versatility allows it to tackle a wider range of materials.

Beyond Blades:

While blades play a critical role, remember that other factors, like cutting speed and feed rate adjustments, can further optimize cut quality. Consulting the machine’s manual and experimenting with different settings can help you achieve optimal results.

By understanding the capabilities of each blade and your specific needs, you can make an informed choice for your tubing cutting projects. If you have further questions or require assistance selecting the ideal blade, feel free to contact our team!
