Key Technical Points for Adjusting the Semi-Automatic Ribbon Cable Crimping Machine:

Turn on the power switch and air valve switch.

Place terminals into the terminal holder.

Power on the touchscreen, confirm the wire’s P number, and set the wire type, spacing, and crimping times on the touchscreen (the crimping times should match those of the terminal machine).

Set the jog/continuous switch to the jog position.

Loosen the wire width adjustment screw slightly, adjusting it to be slightly larger than the wire width (refer to the machine’s schematic for the screw’s position).

Place the wire into the aligning clip, ensuring it is 90° against the baffle.

Press the footswitch and check if the wire’s width inside the aligning clip is appropriate. If not, adjust it with the wire width adjustment screw until it matches the wire’s width, then tighten the screw.

Continuously jog the footswitch until the wire reaches the crimping position (note: the terminal machine must be in manual crimping mode). Visually check if the wire’s first P position is in the middle of the splitting claws. If it leans left, increase the feeding distance; if it leans right, decrease the feeding distance. Adjust the data until it’s suitable. Then manually crimp the terminal and inspect the wire for scratches or damage. If there are any, adjust the wire diameter using the wire type setting parameters. This setting is generally for fine-tuning adjustments.

Check if the distance between the terminal’s core and the insulation is appropriate. If not, adjust the front and rear positions of the insulation and core by adjusting the baffle adjustment screw. After adjusting, tighten the screw (refer to the schematic for the baffle adjustment screw’s position).

The splitting claws and the wire diameter must be compatible. The fork length of the wire should be between 26mm and 30mm.

Once the above steps are completed, set the jog/continuous selection switch to the continuous position to proceed with the machine’s continuous operation.
